ABOUT
Theater for Inclusion is community intervention project directed by París Uki. It is based on theater and participatory art.
Theater for Inclusion wants to foster personal and social transformation through community theater, i.e., theater within, by and for local communities. We dream of building a learning community based on an inclusive and cooperative culture:
- All people have value
- The contributions of each person are necessary for the group
- Nobody knows everything, everyone knows something
We open several processes in three levels of intervention:
- To deepen into our roots_ Research-action processes.
- To take care the core seed_ Workshops and creative processes within communities.
- To share the experience _ Seminars and trainings within professional teams.
Theater for Inclusion developed from Colectivo Improspañol (Vienna, Austria, 2012-2017) and was supported by ART KO LÈ Verein in Vienna from 2015 until 2017.
Since 2018, Theater for Inclusion is supported by Asociación Cultural P.L.A.Y. _Participation_Learning_Art_Youth– It foster community cultural development based in Sierra Norte de Madrid.
WE ARE
Theater for Inclusion Team.
We are an international and multilingual collective of people with diverse professional and personal backgrounds. The team is modified and enriched by each and every participating member. That is how we learn from each other and grow together, this is how we create new ways of relating to each other and of providing mutual support.
Local and sustainable development with Theater for Inclusion:
In 2016, we participated in the “Walking towards social inclusion” project in Vienna, promoting specific and sustained actions every month. We celebrated “The value of being different” (July 2016) as part of the first Vienna Social Tour.
In 2017, we continued with the Social Tour for Inclusion from Cazalla de la Sierra (Seville, Spain) to Vienna (Austria).
In 2018, we continue working on our participatory research-action project “Szeno-Forum: Excluded Voices / Voces excluidas / Ausgeschlossene Stimmen” in Sierra Norte (Madrid, Spain).
You can follow all our activities on our blog.

- Migration as an opportunity
“I lived in Vienna for 6 years (2011-2017). This experience of being an immigrant offered a unique opportunity of living ‘at the other side of the barrier’. It forced and helped me to adapt my theoretical knowledge about inclusion and exclusion in the context of migration, as I had to confront theory with my practical experiences as an immigrant, both my own and those of close friends”
- The approach to inclusion
“As a researcher and a therapist, I spent more than 15 years delving into theory and analysing the concept of inclusion in the context of education. I enjoy being eclectical and building my own body of knowledge. I do not blindly identify with any particular discourse, theory or author, but I do absorb from all of them the parts that seem relevant and relate to the reality in which I myself and those around me find ourselves. Over the past few years, I have learned to embrace the interaction of theory and practice, the process of practice finding its way back into theoretical reflection.”
- Personal commitment
“It is uniquely enriching to tackle processes of social inclusion and exclusion based on personal experiences and group dynamics, giving center stage to coexistence. For me personally, inclusion is not just a concept anymore. It has become a personal commitment and a shared social responsibility. That is why I am so eager to share my perspective on the process of inclusion and to stimulate this process at the same time.”
